What the Role Looks Like Day to Day

The role of a Disney travel advisor involves accompanying clients through every step of their trip:

  • Understanding their needs, priorities, and budget
  • Recommending the right destinations, hotels, ships, itineraries, or ticket types
  • Answering their questions and guiding their decisions
  • Making reservations and managing the administrative follow-up
  • Being available when clients need help or support

Our clients count on us not only when everything goes smoothly, but also when they need reassurance, direction, or quick assistance.

A Flexible Role — But a Demanding One

You manage your own schedule and work at your own pace. That flexibility is real — but it comes with a clear responsibility to your clients.

You need to be able to respond within reasonable timeframes and occasionally step in during evenings or weekends when the situation calls for it.

This is not a casual side project. It is a professional activity that requires time, rigour, organization, and a sincere commitment to your clients.

The Profile We're Looking For

A Genuine Love for Disney

We're looking for people who truly love the Disney universe — the films and the parks alike — and who understand the guest experience beyond just photos seen online.

First-Hand Experience With Disney Destinations

You must have visited Walt Disney World in Florida or Disneyland Resort in California multiple times. Experience with other Disney destinations — Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, Aulani a Resort and Spa, or Disneyland Paris — is a strong asset.

Exceptional Client Service Skills

You enjoy advising, reassuring, guiding, and supporting people through their decisions — with patience, attentiveness, and professionalism.

Autonomy and Initiative

As a self-employed contractor, you must be able to develop your own client base, manage your follow-ups, and grow your activity independently.

Functional English

You must be comfortable in English, as many suppliers and agent support centres are based in the United States. You may serve clients in French or English.

Rigour and Precision

Managing bookings, payments, follow-ups, trip details, and client expectations requires excellent organizational skills and a high level of accuracy.

This role is for you if…

  • You are passionate about Disney and love sharing your experiences
  • You enjoy helping people in a concrete and personalized way
  • You are comfortable with a self-employed, commission-based model
  • You are ready to build your own client base
  • You are organized, reliable, and professional
  • You understand that great service continues even when clients need help outside regular hours

This role is probably not for you if…

  • You are mainly looking for personal perks or discounts
  • You have never actually visited a Disney destination
  • You do not want to develop your own client base
  • You prefer a salaried position with a fixed schedule
  • You are not comfortable with training, compliance, and client follow-ups
  • You see this role as a hobby rather than a professional commitment

Training, Certification, and Compliance

We believe in ongoing training and professionalism. Before taking on the full role, several steps must be completed:

  • Foundational training to build the core skills of the profession
  • College of Disney Knowledge — mandatory certification
  • Specialized internal training on Disney products, client service, and best practices
  • Steps required to obtain the Quebec travel advisor certificate

Certain training and certification fees apply. Full details will be provided to selected candidates who advance in the selection process.

Important to Know

In Quebec, the travel advisor certificate is part of the required pathway to practise this role in a compliant manner. Those joining the team must therefore be prepared to undertake this process at the appropriate time.

You can consult the official information from the Office de la protection du consommateur (OPC) to learn about the conditions, steps, and details related to obtaining the certificate.

Compensation and Growth

This is a self-employed role compensated by commission.

We offer a competitive commission structure with tiered growth based on performance.

Certain industry benefits and opportunities may also become accessible once a certain level of activity is reached.

Beyond Disney

Destinations Magiques specializes in Disney travel. However, through our affiliation with AquaTerra, our advisors can also offer other travel products based on client needs.

This allows you to build lasting client relationships and accompany travellers on other projects over time.

Building Your Client Base

As an independent advisor, you build your own client base. You can leverage your networks, referrals, online presence, and personal outreach efforts.

To support you, you will also have your own profile page on the Destinations Magiques website, allowing clients to discover your specialty and reach out to you directly.

We are looking for people who want to build a loyal, long-term client base founded on trust, service, and quality accompaniment.
